Valerie Brien was the Co-Founder with the late Barry Brien of Brien’s Taxation Service in 1971. As CEO Valerie is extremely proud of the family business now being run by its second generation of family members. 

Valerie organises all client appointments, telephone enquiries and allocates all work to our experienced team members. In addition to this Valerie manages the company accounts, trouble shoots with the ATO and ensure clients receive their refunds in a timely manner.

In Valerie’s spare time she has three amazing children and seven grandchildren that keep her busy, and a heavy social calendar including following the Carlton football team, attending Flemington Racecourse, the Australian Ballet and live theatre shows.

As Partner and Chief Financial Officer the role is vast in terms of duties, ensuring the future success of the business for family generations to come. 

Titian has held numerous senior financial management jobs most recently as Manager of Finance & Reporting at State Trustees managing 13 staff including the Corporate Finance Team, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Strategic Finance and Procurement.

With an extensive career at Crown Ltd exceeding 10 years with her last role as General Manager of Financial Systems & Planning where Titian completed financial & project management of capital expenditure of over $300m (230 individual capital projects) and operational expenditure over $100m revenue 34 individual operations)

Outside of work Titian spends quality time with her husband Dave, and two cheeky children Tyler and Jessica, loves a wine on a Friday and supporting the not no successful Carlton Football Club.

Adam has been involved in the Property industry since 1997. His career began in General Real estate with a family run real estate office in the Eastern suburbs.

During this time he gained a wide range of valuable skills and knowledge, completing several courses at the Real Estate Institute of Victoria encompassing marketing, negotiation, ethics and his Full license in Estate Agency practise. 

He is now entering his 15th year with Fraser's Property, one of Australia’s leading diversified property groups that include development of residential land, housing & apartments, retail and industrial property.

One of Adam’s strengths is establishing a trusting relationship with clients and providing an honest and straight forward strategy.

When Adam’s schedule permits he enjoys keeping fit and supporting the Carlton Football Club.

Gani has a long history as a tax accountant at Brien’s Taxation Service which he joined nearly 30 years ago in 1989 as a computer support technician.

Since then he has evolved and been qualified as a tax accountant, financial adviser and SMSF auditor. As a professional he is an active member and fellow of NTAA.

Gani is an member of the St Albans Uniting Church of Australia and is actively involved in mission, community and finance work to support them. Gani also loves playing chess and listening to soft music.

Rebecca is a senior accountant and has been providing expert advice to clients of Brien's Taxation Service (BTS) since 2010. Before joining BTS she worked for accounting practices in Melbourne and Newcastle.

Rebecca's areas of expertise include: tax planning, advice and compliance including returns, individual and company trusts, SMSF, business accounting and advisory, preparation of financial reports.

Rebecca is a dedicated professional who is valued by clients and who works hard to stay up to date with the latest developments in her areas of expertise.

In her private time she likes to garden, cook, read books, watch movies, renovate houses and raise a family. Rebecca is also a native Chinese (Mandarin)speaker.

Stephen joined Brien’s taxation service in 2019 after completing his Advanced Diploma in Accounting at Victoria University. 

Stephen worked in security and agriculture all over Victoria before commencing his accounting career at Brien’s Taxation Service. Stephen’s areas of expertise include ATO administration and compliance, ASIC reporting and compliance, BAS preparation and Single Touch Payroll (STP) preparation and reporting.

Stephen is hard working and determined to help those around him while always learning something new.

In his private time Stephen enjoys spending time with his 3 children and is a passionate AFL and formula 1 fan.
